At least twice per year give the fan a thorough cleaning. High moisture and steam need to be exhausted from industrial parts washers and that steam and moisture is usually exhausted by a system of ducts powered by a tube axial duct fan. Ventilation for a steam shower is recommended to help regulate humidity in the home but it not required. These fans are belt driven to keep the motor out of the air stream.

Steam sauna bath strongly discourages the installation of a mechanical vent fan within the steam shower enclosure. This same principle applies to a steam shower bathroom in fact a standard bathroom exhaust fan will do the trick. The fresh air inlet is placed just above the sauna heater or on the ceiling and the extraction vent is placed opposite on the floor. In a regular bathroom an exhaust fan helps vent stale air outside the home.
